I am planning to take my wife to Vienna to celebrate her 40th Birthday and would welcome your suggestions on where to stay, eat and visit.
She loves horses so I thought the riding school would be one place to go, can you tell me which performance is the best – there seem to be different lengths of show?
Also, when do the Christmas Markets begin, will they be taking place in November?

The first Christmas markets open mid-November - Town Hall Square is usually the first, followed by Schönbrunn and then the others. The Vienna Tourist Board should soon upload all the info on the markets and Christmas/advent in town www.wien.info/en - if you do a quick search via the search box, you´ll find recent threads with links to various markets.
Eating out and sightseeing in general is all a matter of taste and preference, the search box will help you out there as well - and we can provide more suggestions and ideas if you tell us what you are looking for :).
