solden town layout

looking at staying at pension waldheim, it appears to be 150m from gaislachkogelbahn gondala (non town side).

How far from the main action, i.e. bars /restaraunts is this, on the maps I can find it looks like a couple of km%26#39;s at least between the two main gondala basestations, thus looking like a good km or so from waldheim to town.

Any help appreciated.

Sölden has, as many villages in such relatively narrow valleys, an elongated layout. Your measurements are basically correct but I am not sure whether you can speak about the %26quot;main action site%26quot;. Most entertainment facilities are located along the main road (Dorfstrasse) and not at one spot.

to summarise, would you say the location is ok then? guess nowhere is in the middle of action, as if resort is spread then everywhere wil be near one thing but potentially not another?

I like the look of solden, but will get lynched if I stick the lads to far away from the pub!

Your assessment is basically correct, although there is definitely a kind of %26quot;concentration%26quot; in the %26quot;town center%26quot; but that does not mean that you necessarily find the best bars/clubs there. I would frankly not really care as the distances should be walkable. I am rather located close to the gondola station than to a bar/club (especially if you can walk there).

definately, I prefer short distance to gondola too. Just getting a rough feel for the layout.
