Dear all,
Me and my family are going to spend two weeks in Seefeld over New Year. Though mainly we are planning to have some out-door fun like skiing, skating etc. some advice on possible day-trips out of the village will be more then welcome !
What can we see provided we are with the kid of 7 yo and therefore we are looking for somthing not too far away (100-150 km max), intersting for both adults and child etc. We were thinking about some Bavarian castles, Munich etc. but adivice will be very much appreciated !
Thanks,

You do not mention whether you plan excursions by train or rental auto.
The famous castles are a relatively easy drive but by public transport a harder destination.
Innsbruck is easily reached by train or auto.
It has a small but interesting old town area. Important for kids - is an alpine zoo easily reached by the Nordbahn lift found by the Old town and Congress center.
Also check the dates for the Four Hills Ski jumping contest having a stop in Innsbruck near to the New Years time.
A big crowd , much activity and fun to see.
Just east of Innsbruck and near to Schwaz you find Tratzberg castle that is fun to tour.
In the town a silver mine that can be touresd and most like this activity.
Seefeld offers horse drawn sleigh rides and this is often fun for kids.
Check with the local tourist office has you often find times in the area where food is placed in the forest areas for the deer.
The deer know these places and it is fun to watch this ritual.
Nearby in Germany are the towns of Mittenwald and Garmisch.
While not specific to kids- these easily reached by train that makes for a fun outing.

Castles / Neuschwansteirn is an easily done day trip in good weather and can be combined with Garmisch / Mittenwald
www.neuschwanstein.at
Munich is an easy drive- from just outside Garmisch mostly autobahn to the city - many parking garages available.
Note about driving during this Holiday time- Saturdays - Sundays 12/26 can be very conjested with skiers making journeys to the resorts - Best to avoid these days if possible.
You may find Christmas Day 12/25 and New Years good days to ski as often fewer psople around.
Four Hills Ski jumping in garmisch 12/ 31 and 1/1 you may wisjh not to travel that time or may wish to attend this.
Four hills in Innsbruck 1/2 and 1/3

Olympic bobsled run is near to this.

Tratzberg and silver mine easily done by car - perhaps 45 minutes from Seefeld- just off the Inntal autobahn.
