Most all resorts have snow making capabilities to provide adequate snow if nature does not co operate. As Christmas is a top visitor time, all places do their utmost to provide enough snow for their visitors. The major trouble can be at the bottom of some of the lifts where temperatures can be a little warmer and snow can leave quickly.
The past several years have provided good ski conditions from early in the season onward , but this is impossible to predict.
St. Johann Tirol is a relaatively large town with a busy highway running by.
Depending on location of accomodation , you need transport to ski lifts.
Fortunatels the main gondola takes you to the Kitz Horn - northside , but many other lifts are less comfortable t bars.
You can buy a combi lift ticket covering many of the nearby towns.

Thank you.
