Snow

Given lower altitude of Filzmoos just wondering when in the season does the snow start disappearing?

You ask a question that is impossible to answer with any degree of being accurate.

Most every resort will try its best to keep reliable snow until the Easter Holiday time , this occurs in very early April 2010 I think. This time normally the big weekend period marking the end of skiing for many.

Certainly January - Mid March should normally be OK but again with crazy things happening with weather in the recent past who knows for sure .However with begiinners sking slopes near to the village and the chance of warming temperatures, the snow can leave quickly.

When do you look to visit ?

Filzmoos may not be particularly high, but it does have a fantastic snow record because of its being situated so close to the Dachstein glacier. We live there all winter and this year were skiing in Filzmoos until mid April. I can%26#39;t recall a time when we haven%26#39;t been able to ski through to the end of March, assuming that the lifts have all been kept running. The lift company tends to close some of them when the resort quietens down after Easter, whenever that may be. Hope this helps.
