Stuck in Vienna

By some random twist of fate, I will be laying over in Vienna tonight. I arrive around 4pm and leave tomorrow morning on an 11am flight. I do not speak German and have money (mostly credit) but not a lot. Any ideas on a convenient place to stay (low end is okay)and some easy to get to must see sites/snacks/entertainment? Any ideas would be helpful.

Well, I%26#39;ve been reading past posts and think I%26#39;ll be okay finding a hotel. Still interested in must see sites/activities for this time frame - if you%26#39;re up at this hour. If you see this post while I%26#39;m there, just send me your good vibes please. Cheers.

Well Vienna is not the worst place to be %26quot; Stuck %26quot; in.

firstly accomodation

cheap

this near to the Westbahnhof easily reached by airport transfer bus ( 6 euro ) and then a short walk.

A little more expensive but better located

pension kraml

Best location -city center

Pension Suzanne

As you enter walk toward the baggage claim area , you will usually find a tourist guide- newspaper available for free - includes a map and allows you a quick overview of the city.

In the Arrivals Hall you will find an information center to the left side after exiting the doors from baggage claim.

They can assist you with transport ideas to accomodations, sell tickets etc.

No need for german skills- most tourist related industry workers have a workable knowledge of english and most younger people have learned english in schools.

Many eating places too numerous to mention- just walking in city center - lets you see some sights too.

Good wurst stands for a quick filling stop .

St. Stephans Cathedral -

easily reached from Westbahnhof on line U-3 - walkable from Kraml and Suzanne.

doors open in the evening

Museum Quarter-

some museums, cafes and a little nightlife-

just off the Ringstrasse behind the Fine Arts Museum and just off Marishilferstrasse.

Take a ride on the streetcar lines # 1 and 2 that will allow a circle tour of the Famous Ringstrasse and views of many sigts of the city - beautifully lighted at night.

Haus of Musik - open until 10 PM.
