Taxi Costs

I know there is a 3 times a week ski bus to other areas but could anyone advise taxi costs also to other ski areas.

Would like to try other areas while staying there but not having to rely on the area ski bus.

Thanks.

I would address such questions directly to the tourism board of the region or attempt to clarify this issue upon arrival. I have never heard that someone takes a taxi to another skiing area. But we are all subjected to a continous learning process. You could also switch to another (larger) skiing area such as the %26quot;Skiing World Amade%26quot;.

I think that you must consider your skiing ability while looking at this issue.

Filzmoos has most beginner and lower intermediate skiing. If this suits your ability probably enough to keep you occupied in this enjoyable atmosphere.

I do not like these ski bus transfers as you lose much valuable time - probably at least 2 hours of valuable ski time anf the inconvenience of the transfer with equipment.

Filzmoos has 3- 5 tqaxi firms and I think you could find a reasonable transfer via this route.

Look to the town website - you will find some taxi firms listed and phone numbers. Most will probably speak some english . I would jst call seversal to get a direct answer.

However if you are a better skier , perhaps re thinking another town in this area would greatly assist your stay and skiing pleasure.

Flachau or other nearby places have good and many varied pistes for you.

Hi Vertical.

Thanks for info.

I din%26#39;t see wanting to go any further than Flachau, so can you give me some idea of distance from Filzmoos please.

If it%26#39;s near then I am thinking of going by taxi on the days the bus doesn%26#39;t run.

It is just an option as you say Fizlzmoos sounds just up my street.

Filzmoos to Flachau is not really that far 20- 25 kilometers perhaps. ( 12 - 15 miles )

The road down from Filzmoos can be a little steep and winding in parts but for certain safe.

then you join the A-10 autobahn for the last half of the trip that goes very quickly.

Flachau is immediately next to an autobahn exit and the major lifts convenient to the town.

Total travel time 20- 25 minutes.

No idea of cost but with this distance it should not be terribly expensive.

Perhaps you could even arrange a round trip with a driver and save a little assuming you decide to go or find someone to share the cost.

Flachau has some nice not too steep slopes for the average skier.

Thanks vertical,

Info makes me really looking forward to my skiing trip.

I have taken a taxi to Flacau 30 Euros and to Wagrain 50 Euros hope that helps both costs are one way

Thanks graham.

For the short distance it%26#39;s not cheap is it?

Still, while your%26#39;e there to have to try other areas.
