Traveling out from Vienna - before I buy a rail pass...

I%26#39;m 25 and going to Vienna for 10 days - I%26#39;m looking at the Austria with CZ pass vs. point to point tickets.

I am doing the following round trips for sure (cheapest p2p I could find):

Vienna -%26gt; Salzburg (30 euro each way on the green clover trains)

Vienna -%26gt; Prague (30 euro to prague 20 euro return)

I have to return to Vienna in the middle for a conference that%26#39;s why I%26#39;m not going directly from Salzburg to Prague.

That%26#39;s a total of 110 euros ($160) with four exact trains I have to catch. The 4 day Austria - CZ pass is $170 and allows travel whenever. Unless I%26#39;m missing something for an extra $10 I%26#39;m not locked into exact departure times and trains?

There%26#39;s also the 5 day european east pass for $209.

The price between Vienna and Salzburg is not 30€! It costs steep 48€. Only if you %26quot;misuse%26quot; an discounted international ticket (e.g. Vienna%26gt; Munich) by leaving the train in Salzburg, you can have it for 29€. Backwards you can%26#39;t do it that way.

If the price difference is that small, then take the pass!

Thanks for the clarification. In that case it definitely makes more sense for me to go with the pass.
