how long does it take to travel from vienna - budapest by ferry.

Take the Twin City Liner to Bratislava if you wish to make this trip

75- 80 minutes on a one year old fasrt boat. Scenery is OK but not great.

Perhaps you could go one way and return by train.

An old Hydrofoil also runs on the river to Budapest- avoid it old , slow expensive.

Do you know if you can take luggage on the cityliner between Wien and Bratislavia?

The boats are not really big. I believe they will allow carry on luggage that would be similar to that allowed as carry on on regular aircrft flights.

To my belief, no further luggage is permitted.

if space permits they do allow bikes.

perhaps if look to do this with luggage you could contact them directly to see if such an arrangement is possible.

if not the alternative is the train where you find no trouble with luggage.
