we, a group of 4 60s and 70s people, will be in vienna nov 8-nov10, arriving on sunday afternoon. havent been to vienna in at least a dozen years and looking for advice. 1) for heurigen, go to grinzing or stammersdorf?? are both fully functioning on sunday evening?? 2) music, is the salonorchestra at kursalon a good evening, is mozart house quartet better? 3) is there a same day or last minute box office for music and opera in vienna? where is it and does is usually have tickets for good events? 4) is the %26quot;Ticket Plus%26quot; the only way to get tickets for the Lippizzaner exercise inthe morning?? not really interested in the tour of the stables in the afternoon. Thanks for any help. marshall in north carolina, usa

Grinzing finds more tourists and often lesser quality wine.
Stammersdorf , a little nicer in my opinion. A ride on the streetcar #31 to the end stop.
A board there will show places open- then a walk toward them.
Yes, you will find some open on Sundays. Many of Vienna go there for a sunday afternoon of food, wine and time with friends.
Haus Scmidt if open is one of those places not too far from the end station and offers fair value.
Weininger is bigger - has usually excelent wine.
For the Spanish Riding school - you can buy tickets direct from the Riding School- no need for Ticket plus-
www.srs.at4 tickets together for anything good.
Morning exercise from 10- 12
entrance by Josefplatz- you can tickets there or in advance by the Riding School office by the Hofburg palace - Michaeleplatz side entry way.
The stables are just across the street from the Riding School- large windows allow you to see inside the courtyard of the stables and with good weather , many stables doors can be open with the horses watching the activity of the tourists passing by.
Try to get Opera tickets in advance . You can purchase them on their website
www.staatsoper.at
Most good performances - usually come close to sell outs.
You can try the Opera Ticket office on Operngasse just next to the Opera Building- unlikely to find 4 seats together for good evenings.
Kursalon or Mozrt Haus- your choice-
Kursalon is more varied usually with singers and some dancing - depends on your likes.
