Itinerary assistance and Konzerthaus

Hi everyone.

In a couple of week%26#39;s time I%26#39;ll be in Vienna for the first time and I was wondering whether any kind soul over here would be able to help me out.

I%26#39;ve been doing quite a bit of research and, quite honestly, I feel lost! Overwhelmed with all the different options...

I%26#39;ll be staying 4 nights in Vienna and I%26#39;m trying to come up with an idea of where to go and what to do.

I%26#39;ve got a ticket for a performance at the Konzerthaus. Apart from this and wanting to stroll aimlessly through Vienna%26#39;s altstadt, I%26#39;ve very little in my itinerary.

I don%26#39;t think I%26#39;ll have much time to spare so I%26#39;m not prioritising museums. Having said that I want to visit the %26#39;usual suspects%26#39;: Schönbrunn, Peterskirche, Universitatskirche, Stephansdom and the Rathaus.

Any more suggestions?

Also, any ideas on where to go for a pre-concert dinner around the Konzerthaus? Nothing too fancy, preferably %26#39;local%26#39; and good value.

Many thanks.

Some dining ideas for the Konzerthaus evening.

Cafe Schwarzenberg -on th eRing at Schwarzenberg.

You ay pass this location on your way to the concert

www.cafe-schwarzenberg.at

typical Vienna cafe with a varied menu.

Weinzirl at the Konzerthaus

www.weinzirl.at

a nice experience and obviously perfect location .

Note that your concert ticket may also provide you public transport to and from the concert.

If your ticket includes the wording %26quot; Gilt als Fahrschein in Wien %26quot; or similar it can be used for transport up to 2 hours before the concert for travel to the venue and after for your return.

With 4 days in Vienna you have good time to see many things.

Schonbrunn Palace perhaps 1/2 day.

For museums - Kunsthistoriches Museum - Fine Arts, Belvedere Palace , Museum Quarter and more.

The Royal treasury- Schatzkammer at the Hofburg Palace is a good addition to your day in that area as is the Augustiner and Michaeler Churches.

look to this site

www.wien.info

for good information for your planning needs based on your interests.
