We are planning to go to Lech in January 2010 (after 10th) with my parents, wo do not ski, and 2 kids (1.5 year old and 4.5 year old who will go skiing first time in her life). I have done quite a bit of research and am a bit perplexed as to which hotel to choose.
I am looking for the hotel close to the ski school so that my daughter does not have to walk far in ski boots, but the one that would also work for my parents and my younger son while we ski, perhaps spa/pool/kids room/rink, etc. I am thinking of
Lech: Angela, Monzabon, Gotthard or Berghof
Oberlech: Montana and Goldenberger
Any ones that are particular good for young kids? Or famous for amazing food?
Thanks a lot,
Katherine

I believe you refer to the Goldener Berg Hotel in Oberlech.
That would be my first choice if the children and skiing convenience is the primary factor. The hotel kids friendly- great location and kitchen.
Both the Goldener Berg and Montana as you must already know are in Oberlech.
This is a auto free zone connected by cable car to lech. or a nice walk through the snow and forest.- best to return by cable car.
Goldener berg has a award winning kitchen and good wine cellar .
You can ski from the door as you can from the Montana. Excelent facilities. Great views-
Oberlech very quiet in the evening.
You need not worry about access for your luggage - this will arrive by cable car also to the hotel.
However for the non skier- much less to do outside of the hotel or you take walks - watch the skiers or take the cable car to lech.
Numerous terrace type restaurants to sit and enjoy the sun if it is there.
In Lech-
Gottard or Monzabon would be well located- overall I think the Gotthard is better- nice style good food and convenient location.
