Spending christmas in austria, sister in kirchberg, my family in kirchdorf, would it seem rather cheeky if we met up for dinner in our apartment which we have booked to stay in ie not our own??

I think the family must enjoy any reunion regardless of location. No reason I can think of not to do it.
It is not the facility but the family feeling- a little wine and all seems familiar anyway.

Remember that the major celebration here is Christmas Eve for a gala dinner evening , but anytime would work for this special gathering.
