Ski on January near Salzburg

Hi

we are planning on visiting the Salzburg area on January to do some skiing .

Will it have enough snow for skiing ?

Any suggestions for villages , both for skiing and leisure ?

Thank you in advance .

No one can guarantee weather , but generally good snow conditions can be found. Most all resorts have excelent snow making capability if nature does not co-operate.

Many, many places to choose-

have a look at the sampling of websites

all within a relatively short time from Salzburg.

www.flachau.at

www.zellamsee.at

www.schladming.at

www.obertauern.at

www.saalbach.at

all of the above with good skiing and most all with some enjoyable nightlife.

Last season the alps had a fantastic snow record. You can%26#39;t guarantee it%26#39;ll be like that this coming season though.

Obertauern is probably you%26#39;re best bet as it%26#39;s high and is locally know as the %26quot;snow pot%26quot; as it%26#39;s where all the snow deposits itself when the weather front comes in from the north.

thank you all dear friends !!

You will be spoilt for choice for skiing in the Salzburg area.

Much of the Amade area is within 1hr drive from Salzburg.

Alpendorf is probably nearest at about 40 mins away, from which you can ski on to Wagrain/Flachau. Plenty of leisure activities in this area.

Spa towns of Gastein valley are also worth a look.

Amade has 25 resorts all of which can be skiied on a single pass (plenty of useful sites such as www.skiamade.com , www.alpendorf.com, www.snow-forecast.com)

You have no worries on the snow front. This region has an excellent snow record and has also invested substantially in snow making facilities.

thank you !!
