Feldkirch or Kufstein

Hi there.

We are going to stay in Innsbruck for christmas. We want after that to stay also in another beautiful small town or village in Tirol. We do not ski. We want a picturesque place to stay. Do you propose Feldkirch or Kufstein, or maybe another place?

Thank you very much.

Innsbruck s not a small town with more than a population of 125-150 000 people.

Feldkirch and nearby has about 35 000 , Kufstein a little less so none of these cities are a beautiful small town or vilage as you describe.

With so many other picture perfect places to stay in Austria, perhaps you wish to re examine your priorities.

Near to Innsbruck, you can find the nice small towns, of Igls, Mutters, Ayam, Seefeld, Hall and more.

You can find mch information about them using any search engine.

Kufstein is best known for the fortress in the city, but not really a tourist mecca for anxy term of stay. More sightseeing out of the city. It is less than 1 hour east of Innsbruck so not really a big change of area.

Places like Achensee or even Alpbach offer much more scenic and village type mountain experiences.

Feldkirch, not in Tirol , offers more diverse experiences ,outside of town .

Any special reasons to select these cities ?

Hello brunoAustria

Thank you for your answer. It really changes things.

After staying for a few days in Innsbruck, we want to stay also in another place before leaving Austria. A few years ago we stayed in Salzburg and then Hallstatt and it was a perfect vacation. We thought doing something like that this time in (or around) Tirol. Kufstein and Feldkirch were places recommended by a travel guide I read. Note that we do not ski, so we don%26#39;t want to stay in a ski resort. From all the places you suggested which do you think is the best?

Thanks again

Hi,

If you%26#39;re looking for a beautiful small town in the Tirol, I%26#39;d suggest staying in Hall in Tirol (15 minutes from Innsbruck) instead of Innsbruck. We can highly recommend the Gasthof Badl (we stayed 3 times in the last 8 years) as a place to stay in Hall in Tirol.

In addition to Innsbruck, we just stayed in the Zillertal (1 hour from Innsbruck) which is gorgeous! Either Mayrhofen or Zell am Ziller would be good choices. There are many others though.

My honest opinon is, if your looking for %26quot;beautiful small towns or villages%26quot;, that would have to be Mittenwald, Germany, just over the Austria/Germany border. I know it%26#39;s not an Austrian village, but it%26#39;s less than an hour from Innsbruck and in my opinion, it is THE %26quot;quinessential Bavarian village%26quot; surrounded by mountains. Postcard perfect!

We have some photo%26#39;s of these places at:
