Im thinking of staying in Vienna from the 10th-13th Dec. Although i am a bit confused as to which area is best to stay in..im wanting to be as close to the centre as possible as we will be wanting to soak up the christmas mraket atmosphere and close to all the restuarant and bars for the evening...

This question is asked so often. Basically the central district (Innere Stadt) with postcode 1010 is the most convenient, but also the most expensive. But search %26quot;best area%26quot; in the forum search box above to read a few discussions on this.
