Venice (????) to Vienna

Me, my husband and baby will be flying into Paris on the 28 of November and flying out of Vienna on 13 December. We were planning on 5 days Paris, 5 days in Venice and 6 days in Vienna. I have tried to find a cost and time efficient way to get from Venice to Vienna but cannot. The airfare is way to high and the train is too slow. Does someone know of a better (cheaper) airline or an alternative to Venice? It is my husbands first time to Europe so I want it to be special. Any ideas would be wonderful!!!

thanks for the tips. The plans are not firm but I would like to go to venice. If it costs too much we may not go.
