Hubby and I have a couple days off in February along with a babysitter all organised for the kids. So have been looking at the two of us taking a break in Vienna. Can use airmiles to get flights to London and a hotel in Vienna and there are good deals on the Easy jet flights from London to Vienna but I have a few questions.
Is 48 hours enough to visit Vienna?
Is it worth goin in February when it will be very cold?
Has anyone stayed at WILHELMSHOF HOTEL?

48 hours are definitely less but enough to get a rough overview. If you basically like traveling (as do I) it is no problem at all to only stay 48 hours in a city. You can come back in the near future. If we glance at the statistics, then February can be a cold month. But with the proper attire it is actually no problem to withstand the low temperatures.

I have been to Vienna at every time of year and I have to confess that February is not my favourite. The Christmas and New Year Markets are gone, the weather is chilly and often indifferent and the lovely colours of spring are still a few weeks away. There are some lavish balls (including the Opera Ball), but they wouldn%26#39;t be what you%26#39;re going for. With only 48 hours I%26#39;d be tempted to go when the days are longer and you can make fuller use of the time, but in February nowhere in Europe would be any better. Having said that Vienna%26#39;s museums provide welcomes from the cold weather outside and, as Mikey says, with warm clothing it%26#39;s not an impossible time to come.
With shorter days you may find you spend more time in your hotel and the Wilhelmshof, while it looks OK, seems to be a little soulless. Did you choose it for any reason other than using your airmiles?
