I traveled to Salzburg in September 2009. After researching restaurants on the web, I made dinner reservations at the Pfefferschiff Restaurant approximately 6 weeks ahead of time. I reconfirmed the reservation 1 week ahead by email.
When I checked into my hotel, I was informed that Pfefferschiff had called the hotel and left a message that they were canceling my reservation since they had booked a large party and no longer had room.
While I might understand their business necessity in doing so, they made no effort to contact me directly. They did have my email address since we had corresponded several times by email. I would have appreciated an explanation and apology from them but I guess they couldn%26#39;t be bothered.
They did have the gall to later send me an email requesting that I purchase their cookbook which they had recently published.
I would strongly recommend avoiding the Pfefferschiff Restaurant.

You were clearly treated very badly here and I can find no excuse for such behaviour. Thank you for sharing this with us and we%26#39;ll be aware of that for future postings.
