Hitlers nest via Berchtesgaden?

I have read many other posts on this forum relating to Hitlers Nest but have a couple of questions myself if I may:

1:

From Berchtesgaden rail station I understand a bus runs to the carpark Obersalzberg from where you get another bus to the Nest. How frequent are the buses to Obersalzberg from Berchtesgaden station? Do I need to look for a special numbered bus or will it be obvious which one I need?

2:

How much is the entrance fee including the special bus to the Nest from Obersalzberg?

3:

Is the bus frequent from Obersalzberg to the Nest?

I am looking to travel independent hence my questions.

Thanks for your help people!

You refer to the Eagles Nest or known in german as the Kehlsteinhaus.

The local bus # 849 runs from near the berchchtsgaden train station about every 30 minutes.

9:15, 9:45 etc. I think the bus says Kehlstein or Obersalzberg.

schedule

www.rvo-bus.de

trip takes about 15 - minutes to the parking lot area of the Documentation center and the ticket office for the bus to the eagles nest area.

Due to the steep ascent and descent a specially modified bus is needed for this route on the well engineered roadway only open to these buses.

I believe the cost is about 15 euro.

Your ticket is good for a specific bus and the time is noted on your ticket .

While waiting you can visit the documentation center - rest rooms in this complex also.

These buses run about every 20-30 minutes -

When you get to the top parking lot before the elevator for the final trip to the top - reserve a time to return in the kiosk.

Just pick a good weather day for this trip.

You see everything of the Eagles nest in a very short time. The view is most interesting.

Avoid the restaurant / snack bar - high priced.

Note - this attraction is closed for the winter due to snow on the roadway.

much info on this subject can be found using the search box as you probably know already.
