Salzburg football (or soccer) at red bull arena

Looking at attending the game Wednesday Sept 23rd in Salzburg. Just wanted to know if we can buy tickets at the gate, or if we need to pre-purchase, and how much tickets would be?

Or if you had any other tips for attending or purchasing tickets, any help is appreciated!

Cheers,

AJ

You could pre-purchase tickets from the website of Red Bull Salzburg but it won%26#39;t be that easy as the booking process is in German only and you basically need to know where to sit. For you it is probably better to sit in any neutral sector. Soccer fans can sometimes be foolish.

Mikey_Vienna, thanks for the response.

Will the game be sold out though?

I kind of tried to navigate through the website, but as you said it was all in German and I think that I needed to have an account, which setting up in German seemed too difficult for this girl!

So how %26#39;foolish%26#39; are the stands, we can handle a little rowdiness, and would definitely cheer for the home team! But if we are talking being scared for our safety, then maybe I can just wait to get there to purchase in a less rowdy area???

Thanks again,

AJ

This stadium was enlarged for the Euro 2008 matches to a capacity of about 30000. I think the capacity was a requirement to permit hosting one of these matches

This is much more than an average attendance for a league match there. This is also a week night that has a tendancy to find a little lower attendance perhaps.

Red Bull plays Sturm Graz now 3rd in the league while Red Bull is first.

If you go to the stadium a little early before the match that is scheduled for 19:30 , you should have no trouble getting a ticket in my opinion.

Prices range from about 14-25 euro.

The areas to avoid would be standing room and visitors section.

If you have any fears at all , they do have a family friendly area in the Norh west portion of the stadium. I believe that this area is even non smoking.

The stadium is just north of the city and immediately adjacent to the A-1 autobahn.

Very easy to reach by auto or public transport too.

Keeping the ability to buy a ticket when you are there allows more flexibility if travel plans somehow change or other opportunities are found too.

Thanks again %26#39;vertical%26#39; for the help.

We will wait til game day to purchase tickets, since there%26#39;s no mad rush to get them.

And we likely will be taking public transport from the Alstadt or %26#39;old town%26#39; area. Hopefully we can figure it out and if not, I am sure the hotel staff will be able to assist as well..

Cheers, AJ

Good

if you look to the Red Bull website under stadium

then click on direcrions

you can insert hotel address and get bus info- but probably just as easy asking at the hotel- chaeck - I think that your purchased ticket will also allow a free ride bck to the hotel area.

Enjoy- this is a nice activity and a reat stadium.
