Windischgarsten Lodging Pre-reserve?

My husband, our adult son and daughter, and I will be in Austria Sept 15-18. We are thinking of staying near Windischgarsten and making a day trip to Hallstat. Do you think we need to reserve loding ahead of time, or will we find a pension or small hotel when we arrive? Also suggestions for specific things to do. We have the summer luge, hiking, the ossuary in Hallstat on the list so far.

No need to reserve - enough pensions etc.

Visit other area lakes too the Grundlsee area and nearby very nice-

ask if any festivals happening - often fall fests in varions villages.

for a really nice place, I can recommend this hotel

something more %26#39;rustic%26#39;, a little out of %26#39;town%26#39;, and higher up in the hills, gorgeous countryside and views, I%26#39;d pick either of these two:

I%26#39;ve been to both and pressed to pick one, it would be Zottensberg.

Good food at both places!

I doubt you need to reserve ahead.

Things to do:

Trip to the Gleinkersee
