I%26#39;m going abroad for the first time in a couple of weeks, staying in Vienna. I%26#39;d love to make a day trip to see the Ice Caves. However as I%26#39;m an inexperienced traveller I was wondering if someone could advise as to the easiest way to get there from Vienna using public transport.

First and foremost you need to tell us which ice cave you intend to visit? There is an impressive ice caves in the Dachstein Mountain which is accessible from %26#39;Obertraun%26#39; in the Salzkammergut and another one close to the village of %26#39;Werfen%26#39;. Moreover I would question whether it makes sense to do that ex Vienna (although it is feasible). If taking public transportation you still need to walk from the station/bus stop to the cave entrance.
