Kitbuhel to Salzburg airport

Hey everyone,

I wondered if anyone knows any cheaper than taxi ways to get to Salzburg airport from Kitzbuhel for a 9.40am flight on a saturday morning? Are there any trains of buses that leave early enough?

You can go to Salzburg by train/bus if you are willing to wake up pretty early. You would need to take a regional train to Wörgl and from there one of the InterCity trains to Salzburg Main Station. From there by city bus to the airport. But before I contemplated that I would check (eventually again) semi-private options as a train/bus combo is rather inconvenient at this time of the day. Moreover it is not necessarily cheaper to rely on public transportation but I suppose that the reason why you ask is that you have already investigated taxi fares?

Thanks for your advice - I called the hotel and they quoted Eu 130 one way to airport but I think independent taxi firms would be slightly less expensive and more convenient as you say.

You could also check out the day before and look for an accommodation in the city of Salzburg. Spend the day (or only an afternoon depending on chosen train connection) there sightseeing or relaxing if you already know Salzburg. The next morning you don%26#39;t need to stand up that early and you can take the city bus for just 1.80€ to the airport.

most are accustomed to early and late departures / arrivals .
