Check the Vienna tourist website -

they have a special section with info for family activities.

Many activities for kids that offer a flavor to the season.

The Christmas market at the Rathaus has many thingsd for kids in the parks on both sides of the Market.

These include a small train ride, small exhibits and Christmas lighting in the trees adding to the festivities.

At Schonbrunn Palace , you find not just the palace and Christmas Market but a good zoo too. Makes a fun day.

Some kids enjoy the apple strudel making exhibit just below the restaurant- they can eat the product too.

Visit the toy store Kober- this is on the pedestrian zone of Graben- a small place but fun for kids to look at the many offerings.

Many Churches have Christmas scenes as part of their decorations -

Take a ride around the Ringstrasse on the streetcars- great way to see the major sights and relax too.

Stop in a cafe- great way to warm up, relax, have some hot chocolate and some pastry.

Go to the ice cream shop Zanoni and Zanoni- near to Stephansdom- they are normally always open and offer good ice .

Take a horse drawn carriage ride ( fiaker ) expensive but kids like it - you too.

Bad weather try the aquarium

Have a cup of punsch at one of the many kiosks offering this. Makes kids seem to be part of the adult festivities. They offer Kinder Punsch ( no alcohol ). Adults have a choice.

Best to reserve for Christmas Eve Dinner.

The tourist office usually publishes a list of open restaurants as it becomes closer to the Holiday.

As you probably know , the major celebrations here are on Christmas Eve, the 24th. Things will close early to permit families to ather for a gala evenin dinner and celebrations.

Often Church service at 23:00

The 25th - many things are closed - but most all tourist places open including museums.

This is a ood time to visit Schnbrunn as the market and all things are open that day.

Enjoy this time n Vienna.
