Hey, myself and a few friends are planning on spending 5 nights in Vienna over the Easter period in 2010 (Wed 31st March through to Monday 5th April).
Just wondering if anyone can pass any comments on whether or not this is an ideal time to go? Whats the weather going to be like? Will shops be shut on the Sunday and the Monday (being its Easter)? Will attractions still be open on the Sunday and the Monday?
We are also hoping to visit an Opera and also a performance by the Spanish Riding School.
Also any suggestions on centrally located Hotels (5* preferably), would be greatly received.
Thanks guys.

Didn%26#39;t you ask about an Easter trip to Vienna last year?
It%26#39;s difficult to predict the weather, but it should be a little warmer and drier than Gloucester in the spring. Usually an ideal time to visit. Shops are always closed on Sundays, but attractions should be open both days.
For five star hotels look at this thread from earlier this year:

For opera you%26#39;ve picked a good period. There%26#39;s La Boheme at the Staatsoper on Easter Monday whilst at the Volksoper Carmen, Die Fledermaus, La Traviate and The Merry Widow are all on on different nights.

The same advice given to your question for Easter 2009 applies for 2010.
