Hello,
I%26#39;ll be spending one week in Austria next month but I coulnd%26#39;t still figure it out how many days should I stay in the diferent locations!
I%26#39;ll rent a car and will spent the last three days interely in Vienna, but the what about the remaining days? 1 days for Salzburg? Should I visit Innsbruck or would it be nicer to go to Munich? (I know that%26#39;s Germany :))
I%26#39;m not very much into museums, I prefer to walk around and just feel the cites!
Help! I%26#39;m overwhelmed with information!
Thanks!

With a car, you should be able to travel to Linz, then go up across the border to Jindrichuv Hradec, Ceske Budejovice (Prague), then to Brno, Bratislava, %26amp; if enough time, try Budapest. All lovely cities)
Google Linz, make it smaller to see the area, then plan your route...

to start you on Czech towns. You can google most of the info; just add the country%26#39;s code (better result), e.g. Bratislava.sk, Cesky Krumlov.cz.
Use Google translate if entirely in their languages...

Thanks for your advice Sophie but I was willing to explore Austria itself!
Anymore suggestions?

Sorry, must%26#39;ve misunderstood.
Then Vienna, Linz, Salzburg %26amp; Graz + all the little villages in between. ( Bad Ischl East of Salzburg is great). Have a nice vacation.

To suggest something, knowing your gateway airport (arrival and departure) would be helpful. Salzburg and Munich are good choices, and pretty easy to reach by car. Along the route is also Linz - worth a stop.
Personally, I%26#39;d hole up at one of the lovely spas along the way for a day or two, and enjoy what they have to offer.

Hello!
We will be arriving and departing from Vienna airport! So Innsbruck it%26#39;s not worth a visit?

With just one week for your visit and wanting to be in Vienna at least 3 days, I would try to limit the places to be visited for a much more enjoyable time.
A spa while perhaps a good relaxing thing is probably not why you make plans for a Austrian visit.
No need for a auto during your time in Vienna . Public transport is excelent and many sights are within walking distance in the city center. many small old streets to wander through in Vienna. You can make a dy of just this very easily .
Be certain to stop in a Vienna Cafe for a pastry and drink of choice.
many goofd ones to choose- Cafes Oberlaa, Diglas, Central are especially finein my opinion.
Depending upon the dates of your November visit, the Christmas Markets could be open - usually after the middle of November.
Salzburg is just a 3 hour or less drive from Vienna.
Excelent train connections too if this interests you.
If driving Melk Abbey just off the autobhan is wellworth a stop .
www.stiftmelk.at
note visiting tour hours.
Linz is OK but having been in Vienna, your time can be better spent elsewhere in my opinion.
Salzburg and the area nearby is easily worth a 2 day visit.
Thus 2 more days remaining-
Innsbruck is 2 hours by train or auto from Salzburg- an easy drive usually .
The city can be seen in a day.
Then a days return drive to Vienna.
Or
This up to your wishes and desires - but to me this time better spent in the Salzkammergut - Lake Country- November is definitely the off season but still a beautiful ara . Again if you visit in late November Christmas markets in Mondsee, St. Gilgen, Strobl, St. Wolfgang.
As this area is between Salzburg and Vienna - you do not lose time driving as to Innsbruck and still have a memorable experience.
Much about this area on Trip Advisor . just use the search box.
However you may find after first seeing Vienna , that more days can be used there.
Examples
Nice areas to walk and visit life like Spittelberg with many narrow alleyways , small shops and cafes,
The former villages now part of the city like
Hietzing - with many quiet streets and nice villas- this near to Schonbrunn Palace and combined with a walk in the Palace Park easily a full day.
Whatever your choices - a good trip and most enjoyable.
The wine villages - Nussdorf, Neustift, Sievering,Stammersdorf ; Mauer fun to walk throgh and visit a wine tavern / heuriger.

We just spent a week in Austria. It was wonderful. I need to do a trip report.
Here is what we did: 1 night in Munich , 3 nights in Salzburg, 1 night in Melk, 2 nights in Vienna
Loved it all. If I had to plan it all over again, 3 nights in Salzburg, 4 nights in Vienna and a stop in Melk to see the abby.
We took a day trip out of Salzburg to the Lakes Region. It was beautiful.
PM me if you have any questions.

While a visit to Melk Abbey is really interesting, the November time period finds the town of Melk very, very quiet.
Tourist season , cruise boat and bus tours no longer frequent this stop.
Many things in town are closed. Very limited choice of hotels.
Vist the Abbey and then drive on without an overnight if possible.
