I think you have to bring the ticket back in order to get the unused fields (days) reimbursed. For that visit a representation of WienerLinien (= Vienna Public Transportation Body).

I had the same problem and asked at a Wiener Linien ticket window and they told me, that the old ticket (issued before the last increase of fares) will be valid until June 2010.
