Hi,
I%26#39;ll have nearly 5 hours between planes in Vienna on a weekday. Arrival at 7am, departure at 11:50am. With the CAT it takes 16 minutes to get to the city center. The problem is that all museums will be closed until 10am. Can anyone recommend where to spend these 4 free hours or staying in the airport is the best option?

What date is your transfer as this can affect what is recommandable?
From Wien Mitte station you could walk to the Ringstrasse and using trams 1 and 2 (ticket €1.80 if bought at Wien Mitte) do a circuit of this famous boulevard catching views of some of Vienna%26#39;s most impressive architecture. From the end of your circuit you could wander throught the mediaeval streets to Stephansplatz and visit the mighty and symbolic St Stephan%26#39;s Cathedral. If time allows you could get a coffee and cake in one of the many coffee houses and then walk up Kärntnerstrasse to the Opera house and anticlockwise to the Stadtpark strolling through there back to Wien mitte to get the CAT back.

Thank you Norman, your suggestion looks very good! I%26#39;ll be in Vienna next week on Thursday. Another question - with my schedule I%26#39;ll hit the morning rush hour. Is there a lot of traffic in Vienna in the morning?

It makes no difference to the CAT from where you%26#39;ve no problem walking across to the tram stop. Trams have their own bit of the road and their own traffic lights so are not held up. The central area is largely pedestrianised so no problems there either!

That%26#39;s great! Thank you.
