Christmas market in Vienna

I%26#39;m thinking of bringing my fiancee and our little girl (14months) to Vienna at the beginning of Dec for 3 nights to see the Christmas market - this is a bday present to my fiancee. I%26#39;m just wondering if anyone has been here for the Christmas market - would you recommend, any tips for our trip, where to stay, to visit, etc.... many thanks

Cathy and Paul - there are many Christmas Markets in Vienna. The largest and most famous is in front of the city hall (Rathaus), but many would say it%26#39;s not the best. Search %26quot;Christmas Market%26quot; in the forum search box above to get many discussions and links.

Norman_Cope thanks for that. A friend has said Salzburg would probably be the best for us as we could also do the Sound of Music tour, etc. So will look into other options as you suggest. Many thanks
