Railway question

We will be traveling from Vienna to Munich in mid October. My husband and I will be traveling with Eurail passes and we will be buying a ticket for my mother. I am wondering if we should buy a ticket before we leave the states (ie now) for my mother or wait till we get to vienna and then buy the ticket at the train station. We are hoping to travel in the Railjet so we don%26#39;t have to transfer trains. And should my husband and I reserve a seat on the train?

Thank for any help

Betsy

You can check if there are cheap offers left for the connection you want to take. Usually they are available from € 29 on but sell out quickly, often weeks in advance.

Mind that the cheap fares (marked with a green shamrock) are not changeable or refundable. They are available als self-print tickets.

Standard fares (usually valid for 2 months) can be bought just before you go from the ticket window.

As most trains start from Vienna, no need to buy a seat reservation, just choose the seats you prefer. Reserved seats are marked (allmost nobody does a seat reservation).
