Vienna Saturday Market

A few years back I had the most wonderful day in the outdoor market in Vienna. I spent hours in the flea market and then met some wonderful people in the market area. We spent the day eating, drinking strum and getting to know each other. It was truly a memorable day.

Is the market open year round? When do the Christmas markets open? I am considering a trip from 10/30 to 11/8 or 11/14 to 11/25. Any thoughts? Appreciate any and all suggestions.

Thanks in advance,

Nancy

Not sure how you spent hours on the flea market as I don%26#39;t think it%26#39;s that good. But it is on every Saturday. Christmas markets open between 13 and 20 November so your later dates will catch them.

I think you were drinking Sturm- this seasonal drink is probably finished by the dates of your visit.

The saturday market by the Naschmarkt is not that big for spending hours- perhaps the entire naschmarkt - watch your wallet and valuables now - this area gets very crowded sommetimes and some take advantage of these conditions.

Thank you for replying.

The summer before my visit to Vienna, I visited Aushwitz. Of course that sparked in interest in WWII. At the Naschmarkt flea market I found boxes of old photos and spent hours looking through them. It was so interesting.

I am looking so forward to my return to Vienna.

Thanks again,

Nancy
