Hi, we are planning a first trip to Obertauern in January and can%26#39;t decide on a hotel. Has anyone stayed at the Petersbuhel? I have also looked at the Kohlmayer, Latschenhof and Tauernkonig.
Any information on these hotels and their location would be much appreciated. Thanks

I don%26#39;t know if you have already booked. I%26#39;ve stayed at petersbuhel. Great hotel. It has been renovated in last 2 years and has a great wellness area. No pool though. If you have a family the Taurhenias are great to stay in. They are new maisonette type accommodation attached to the hotel and very spacious. The hotel is ideal for the slopes. There is a new ski room. Food was good too. I can really recommend this hotel.

Hi, thanks for the information, we have booked a week at the Petersbuhel for January. How did you find the skiing in Obertauern?

We enjoyed the skiing in Obertauern, as you can ski round the resort clockwise or anticlockwise and get back to where you started. Expert skiiers may not be stretched too much though on the slopes. We are intermediates and it is ideal. You can ski from the Petersbuhel%26#39;s door. We have been to the Petersbuehel twice and hopefully going back again next year if we can book flights. The last time an extension had been added and we stayed in the new Tauherenias which were ideal for families as their was a downstairs double room and a triple upstairs with 2 bathrooms. There is a great choice of food at breakfast and lovely hot drinks and cakes in the afternoon. This is followed by dinner which has 3 choices. The new wellness area was beautiful and relaxing. We did not use it much as it was not really suitable for children. The owner is always on hand at reception to give advice. I think they had a deal with Intersport for a discount off ski hire - ask when you get there. I%26#39;m sure you will have a great time.
